Our Sustainability Policy:

 

  • Leroy Hotels are realistic in setting sustainability goals, according to local considerations and development, so that environmental measures and actions will not undermine the quality of the existing hotels product.
  • Leroy Hotels implement measures of natural resources management (energy, water, raw materials) and waste, with the aim of improving the local environment and to encourage other members of the tourism industry to undertake corresponding initiatives.
  • Leroy Hotels environmental measures will feature in order of priority:
    • The use of local recycled, recyclable and natural, biodegradable materials
    • Energy and water saving
    • Minimising and re-using waste
    • Controlling air / soil / water pollution.
  • Leroy Hotels conserve and protect the landscape, wildlife and historical resources near each of our hotels with priority.
  • Leroy Hotels strive to increase level of awareness of environmental issues within its own organisation, to local residents, hotel guests and business partners.
  • Leroy Hotels include improved environmental considerations in all new building and renovation plans.
  • Leroy Hotels balance financial benefits from waste management and energy saving against increased initial costs of other improvements.

Shopping in Christchurch

The new inner city retail precinct is taking shape with shops opening all the time. Spend the day exploring the wide range of boutiques and contemporary retail spaces. The Crossing has recently opened and is home to fashion names such as H&M, Witchery, Trenery, Country Road, Seed Heritage and Andrei Bani with more shops opening over the coming months.

Located in the inner city you'll also discover Christchurch institution, 'Ballantynes' department store. Ballantynes offers everything from homewares and local fashion to top international brands like G-Star, Superdry and Calvin Klein to name but a few.

Parks, gardens and walks

Long referred to as "The Garden City" Christchurch's parks and gardens are ripe for exploration. Take a run or stroll around the vast green space of Hagley Park, or wander the blooms and foliage at Christchurch Botanic Gardens <96> New Zealand's largest inner-city park. Enjoy the beauty and the tranquillity of this green sanctum with a punt down the Avon.

For some fresh seaside air and stunning views take a stroll down the Sumner Promenade or New Brighton Pier.
